🌎 One Pool, Global Footprint

SoloPool runs in six regions — Los Angeles, Europe, New York, Singapore, Dubai and São Paulo — and they are one pool, not six. The regions are linked by an authenticated mesh: they share one round, one leaderboard and one payout. Connect wherever is closest to your miner; it makes no difference to what you earn, only to how fast your shares land.

This changed. SoloPool previously ran two independent regional pools with separate rounds, where a block found in one region paid only the miners connected to it. That is no longer the case. The regions now form a single meshed pool and a pool-routed block pays every contributor, wherever they are connected.

What “one pool” means for your payout

  • The Prop + round is pool-wide. Your accumulated round difficulty counts the same no matter which region you are connected to.
  • A pool-routed block found in ANY region pays ALL contributors. If the Singapore region solves the block, a miner on Europe with round contribution is paid from it, in the same coinbase transaction.
  • A payout below 546 satoshis cannot be written. Bitcoin will not accept a coinbase output smaller than the 546 sat dust limit. If your share of a winning round works out to less than that, no output can be created for you and you are not included in that block’s payout. This is a rule of the Bitcoin network, not a pool policy, and it applies in every region and in every mode. In practice it reaches only very small contributions — your Miner Stats page shows a ⚠ DUST warning ahead of time when your projected share is under the limit. The block still ends the round, and round difficulty still resets for everyone, dusted or not.
  • Solo is different, by definition. A solo-routed block pays only the miner who found it, 98% of the reward, minus the 2% dev fee. Nobody else is paid from a solo win — that is what solo mining is, and it applies identically in every region.
  • Stats are unified. Hashrate, lifetime difficulty, best ever and workers all merge across regions on one page.
  • Penalties follow you. An offline or under-hashing worker carries the same penalty on every region — reconnecting somewhere else does not reset it.

Why regions at all, then?

Latency is share quality. A miner in Frankfurt talking to a California server sees roughly 150 ms round-trip against about 5 ms to a European one. That is the difference between catching a fresh job and submitting a stale share. Each region sits next to its miners so work lands before the network moves on — while the payout accounting stays pool-wide.

Switching regions

Change your stratum URL and reconnect, or just use stratum.solopool.com and let it route you. Your address, worker names, Solo Split ratio, round contribution, lifetime stats and any active penalty all carry over — the pool sees the same miner. Nothing is lost in the move and nothing is reset by it.

🎯 What Makes Prop + Different

Most proportional pools count how many shares you submitted and split the reward on that count. SoloPool’s Prop + pays on how much work those shares represent. The “+” is the difficulty weighting.

Share value, not share count

When your miner connects, the pool assigns it a difficulty target sized to its hashrate — a big farm gets a high target, a Bitaxe gets a low one. The pool adjusts it as your hashrate moves. Every accepted share credits that assigned difficulty to your round total.

That is what makes the comparison fair. A rig on a target of 1,000,000 submits shares rarely, and each one is worth a thousand times a share from a rig on a target of 1,000, which submits constantly. Counting submissions would flatter the small rig enormously; counting assigned difficulty puts both on the same scale — work performed, not messages sent.

What happens when a share comes in far above your target? Your miner has no way to aim at an exact difficulty — it hashes until something clears the target, and sometimes that something clears it by a huge margin. Such a share is accepted and credited at your assigned difficulty, not at the value it happened to hit. What a very lucky share buys you is far better than round credit: if it clears the network difficulty, it is a block. That is the jackpot, and it is the whole point of solo mining.
Why credit the assigned value and not the lucky one? Because over any real span of mining, assigned difficulty is a clean measure of work done and luck averages out of it. Paying out on lucky overshoots would make round payouts a second lottery layered on top of the block lottery, and would reward variance rather than contribution. Prop + keeps the lottery where it belongs — on finding the block.

How it shows up in your stats

  • Pool Diff (assigned) — the difficulty target the pool handed your rig. This is the value each accepted share adds.
  • Share Diff (last share) — what your most recent accepted share actually hit. Always at or above the assigned target, often well above. Informational.
  • Round Diff — assigned difficulty accumulated this round. This is what your payout is proportional to.
  • Round Shares — a count of accepted shares. Informational; it is not what you are paid on.
  • Best Share — the highest actual difficulty you have hit, this round and all-time. Bragging rights, and the number that becomes a block if it ever clears the network.

See them on your Miner Stats page. Difficulty and Shares are kept in separate columns deliberately: they are different units, and only the first one pays.

Combined with Solo Split

Prop + is not a separate mode — it is how the pool side works in whichever mode you are in. At 100% pool (password 0) all of your assigned difficulty goes into the round. At a 70/30 Solo Split (password 70), 30% of it does. Either way the round pays by value, not by count.

What Prop + is NOT. No time-weighting (early shares are not worth less), no score-weighting (no late-share bonus), no anti-hopping penalty maths. Contribute work value, get paid proportional to work value. The “+” is the difficulty weighting and nothing else.

โš–๏ธ Solo Split — You Choose the Ratio FIRST OF ITS KIND

Solo Split is a first-of-its-kind mining mode: a hybrid between traditional Solo mining (you win the full block or nothing) and Prop + Pool mining (proportional payouts — everyone in the round gets a slice when the pool wins). What makes Solo Split different from every other pool out there: you decide the mix, share by share.

SoloPool supports three mining modes. You pick your mode by setting the stratum password field to a number from 0 to 100. That number is the percentage of your shares that go toward Solo mining; the rest joins the shared Prop + Pool round.

What is “Prop +”? Proportional payout weighted by difficulty value rather than share count. Each accepted share credits the difficulty target the pool assigned your miner, so a large rig's occasional share and a small rig's frequent ones are measured on one scale: work performed. When the pool wins a round, the reward is split by accumulated work value, so miners of any size are compared fairly. Solo-found blocks don’t pay the Prop Pool. The Prop Pool round only distributes when a Prop-Pool-routed share wins the block. If a 100%-Solo miner on the pool finds a block, 98% goes to that miner alone — Prop Pool participants receive nothing for that block, even though they were mining at the time. Same applies within Solo Split: if your Solo-routed share wins, your Prop Pool contribution is not paid from that block. Note that every block ends the round — solo or pool — and round difficulty resets for everyone. This is a fundamental property of how Solo mining works, not a malfunction.

One Solo Split setting per address. Your mode is tied to your Bitcoin address, not to individual workers. If you connect multiple workers under the same address with different passwords, they all end up at the highest (most-solo) value.

Rules for Changing Your Mode

You can change your Solo Split ratio at any time by reconnecting with a different password, but there are two guardrails that keep Solo Split fair for everyone:

Increasing solo % is instant. Going from 5080 takes effect on your next share. Your already-accumulated pool-round shares are preserved (they were contributed at a more-pool-heavy rate, so they helped the pool more, not less).
Decreasing solo % is locked for 48 hours after any increase. If you go 2580 and then try 8040 three hours later, the pool will ignore the drop and keep you at 80. After 48 hours, downward changes are allowed — and when they succeed, your current round stats are reset (fresh start in pool mode). The ๐Ÿ”’ LOCKED badge on your miner’s stats page shows when this timer is active.

Why the 48-hour lock? Without it, someone could mine 100% solo long enough to get lucky, then flip to 100% Prop pool right before the pool finds a block to claim a share of it. The lock is pool-fairness protection — it’s what makes Solo Split work without giving clever miners a way to game the other contributors.

How Payouts Break Down

Regardless of which mode you’re in, 2% dev fee is deducted from every block reward. Here’s how the remaining 98% is split for a few example solo percentages:

Penalties — Offline and Under-Hashing

The Prop + round pays for work you are actually doing. Two things get a worker de-weighted from it, and a worker is judged on both independently. A worker that is online and hashing at the rate its round credit implies is never penalised. There is no pool-wide penalty and no penalty for being small.

1. The offline ramp — your worker stopped submitting

  • 0 – 4 hours: nothing. Grace period, for reboots, outages and maintenance.
  • 4 – 48 hours: the penalty ramps on a curve that is gentle at first and steepens — roughly 5% at 12 hours, 18% at 24 hours, 45% at 36 hours.
  • 48 hours and beyond: 100%. The worker is out of the round until it returns.

2. The hashrate check — your worker is online but barely working

The offline ramp only looks at when your last share arrived. That alone is easy to game: burst an enormous rented hashrate into the round for a few hours, then leave one tiny device connected so the timestamp stays fresh, and the round credit stands while the work behind it has gone. The hashrate check exists to catch exactly that.

It compares what a worker is currently producing against the rate its accumulated round credit implies it should be:

implied rate = your round difficulty ÷ time elapsed in the round
current rate = your hashrate now (best of the 5-minute and 1-hour averages)
support     = current ÷ implied
  • Support of 85% or better is free. Normal variance, a rig down for a service, a ramp after reconnecting — none of it is touched.
  • Below 85%, a clock starts. Nothing at all happens for the first 5 hours. From 5 to 8 hours the de-weighting is slight (up to about 12%). After 8 hours it accelerates, reaching full effect by roughly 16 hours for a severe shortfall, or about 18 hours for a mild one.
  • How far below matters as much as how long. A worker at 80% support is barely touched; one at 2% support — the rental-trickle case — is written down in full.
Only the larger of the two applies. The offline ramp and the hashrate check are evaluated separately and your worker takes the higher of them, never the sum. You cannot be penalised twice for one problem.
Two things people try, and why they do not work. Reconnecting does not clear the hashrate clock — it survives restarts on both sides. Moving to another region does not clear it either: every region evaluates the penalty from the same shared sensor values, so all six arrive at the same number for the same worker.
Coming back. Return to normal and the penalty stops deepening immediately — new work accumulates cleanly from there. What was already written down stays written down; it is a real reduction in your round contribution, not a display filter. Mining normally? None of this applies to you. A rig that is online and hashing at its usual rate sits at 0% permanently. Small miners are not penalised for being small — the check is against your own implied rate, not against anyone else's hashrate.

SoloPool pays out directly to your Bitcoin address through the coinbase transaction of the block itself. There is no pool wallet — your coins never touch our servers.

  • The 2% dev fee is deducted from the block reward’s coinbase output only
  • The remaining 98% is distributed based on your mode (Solo / Prop + Pool / Solo Split)
  • In Prop pool or Solo Split mode, your share is proportional to the round difficulty you contributed to the pool-wide round, wherever you were connected — the round ends and resets every time any block is found, solo or pool
  • A solo-routed block pays 98% to the finder alone; other contributors are not paid from it
  • Offline and under-hashing workers are subject to the penalties described above
Dust limit reminder. Bitcoin requires coinbase outputs to be at least 546 satoshis. If your projected share is below that, the output won’t be included in the block — you’ll see a โš  DUST warning on your Miner Stats page in those cases. Large miners in Prop pool mode almost never hit this; it mostly affects very small hobby miners in pool-only mode.

What is Solo Split and how is it different from other pools?

Solo Split is the first mining mode that lets you choose how much of your hashpower goes toward solo attempts versus joining a proportional (“Prop”) pool round. Traditional pools lock you into one or the other. With Solo Split you dial in any ratio between 0 and 100, and that ratio applies share by share. You keep the jackpot potential of solo mining while also participating in the steadier payouts of Prop pool mining — at whatever balance you want.

What is “Prop +” and how is it different from regular Prop pools?

Most pools using “Prop” (proportional) payouts count how many shares each miner submitted to the round and split the reward based on that count. SoloPool’s Prop + goes further: it weights every share by its actual difficulty value. A high-difficulty share contributes more than a low-difficulty share, because it represents more work. Each accepted share credits the difficulty target the pool assigned your miner, which is sized to your hashrate. A big rig on a high target submits rarely and each share is worth a great deal; a small rig on a low target submits constantly and each share is worth little. Both end up measured on the same scale — work performed rather than messages sent. A share that happens to land far above your target is credited at the assigned value; its real upside is that if it clears network difficulty, it is a block. More detail here ↑

Which region should I mine on?

Whichever is closest to your miner — or just use stratum.solopool.com and be routed there automatically. Region affects latency and therefore your stale-share rate; it does not affect what you earn. All six regions are one pool sharing one Prop + round. You can also run different workers in different regions under the same address.

If a block is found in another region, do I get a share?

For a pool-routed block, yes. The regions are meshed and the round is pool-wide, so a block solved in any region pays every contributor according to their round difficulty — in the same coinbase transaction, no matter where they were connected. For a solo-routed block, no — a solo win pays 98% to the miner who found it and to nobody else. That is true within a region as well as across regions; it is what solo mining means, not a regional rule.

What are my chances of finding a block?

In Solo mode, your probability is your hashrate divided by the total network hashrate. Use the calculator to estimate. With current difficulty, even large miners may go months without finding a block — solo mining is like playing the lottery. In Prop + Pool mode you get smaller but more frequent payouts when the pool wins. Solo Split gives you some of each, at the ratio you set.

Which mode should I pick?

That’s up to you and your tolerance for variance. A few common patterns:

  • Big mining operation, patient: 100% solo (x). Maximum variance, maximum reward when you hit.
  • Hobby miner, Bitaxe, etc.: probably 100% Prop pool (0) since your solo odds are cosmic. You’ll actually get paid occasionally.
  • Medium miner who wants both: pick a Solo Split like 50 or 70. You still have jackpot upside but also participate in Prop pool wins.

Can I switch between modes?

Yes. Increases take effect instantly. Decreases are locked for 48 hours after an increase. See the Solo Split section above for the full rules.

Do I need to create an account or register?

No. Your Bitcoin address is your identity. No KYC, no signup, no withdrawal requests. Just point your miner at us with your address as the username.

Why use a solo pool instead of mining alone?

A solo pool handles the complex work of creating block templates, communicating with the Bitcoin network, and distributing work to your miners. You still get the full reward (minus the small dev fee) when you find a block. Solo Split adds the option to also contribute to a shared Prop round for more frequent payouts — at whatever ratio you choose.

What happens if my miner disconnects?

Your stats are preserved and mining resumes automatically when you reconnect. If you were in Prop pool or Solo Split mode, the offline ramp starts after a 4-hour grace period and reaches 100% at 48 hours. Coming back stops it deepening straight away, and new work accumulates cleanly — but whatever was already written down stays written down.

Can I use any Bitcoin address?

Yes! We support Legacy (1...), SegWit (3...), Native SegWit (bc1q...), and Taproot (bc1p...) addresses.

What coinbase tag does SoloPool use?

Every block found through SoloPool is tagged /Mined @ SoloPool.Com/ in its coinbase transaction — in every region, for solo and pool blocks alike.

How often are stats updated?

The Pool Stats and Miner Stats pages refresh automatically. Your hashrate averages (5m, 1h, 24h, 7d) are re-computed as your miner submits new shares.

Does the 2% dev fee ever change based on mode?

No. The 2% dev fee is constant across all modes and all regions. Everything else (the remaining 98%) is distributed based on your Solo Split ratio.

Connection refused / timeout

Check that you’re using the correct port for your network. Ensure your firewall allows outbound connections on the stratum port. If stratum.solopool.com is unreachable from your network, try a regional hostname directly — la, eu, ny, asia, me or sp.solopool.com:3333. All six are the same pool.

Shares rejected

This usually means stale shares due to network latency. Check your internet connection stability. A small reject rate is normal; anything above a few percent is worth investigating. If you have pinned a distant region manually, switching to stratum.solopool.com so you are routed to the nearest one usually clears it up — check the Pool Servers page to see which region is actually closest to you.

Zero hashrate shown

It takes a few minutes for hashrate to calculate. Wait for shares to be submitted and the 5-minute average will appear.

Invalid address error

Make sure you’re using a valid Bitcoin mainnet address — Legacy (1...), SegWit (3...), Native SegWit (bc1q...) or Taproot (bc1p...) — and check carefully for typos. The address you connect with is the address that gets paid, so there is no way for us to correct a mistyped one after a block is found.

I set my password to 50 but my mode still shows 100% SOLO

Two likely causes:

  • Another one of your workers connected with a higher solo % (like x or 100) and bumped the address up. Solo % is per-address, not per-worker — the highest wins.
  • You just came out of an increase and are in the 48-hour lock. Any downward change is ignored until the lock expires. Look for the ๐Ÿ”’ LOCKED badge.

My password is 0 but I’m not showing up in the Prop pool round

Check the PENALTY column on your Miner Stats page. A worker offline more than 48 hours is fully excluded until it returns. A worker that is online but producing far less than its accumulated round credit implies is also de-weighted — if you recently ran a large rig and then scaled down, that is the hashrate check, and it eases as the round moves on and your credit and output line up again.

My Pool Share payout shows โš  DUST

Your projected share of the current round is below 546 sats, which is Bitcoin’s dust limit for coinbase outputs. If the round wins, your output won’t be included. This almost only happens with very small hobby miners in 100% Prop pool mode. Options: accumulate more shares by mining longer before the round ends, or dial your Solo Split toward more solo %.

The “If You Find a Block” and “Pool Share” numbers seem weird

Both projections update every time new shares come in and every time the pool’s view of the round changes, so small fluctuations are normal. Larger movements usually mean other miners joined or left the round. At 100% solo you’ll see the full 98% of the block reward as “if find” and a — for “pool share” (since you aren’t contributing to the round). At 100% pool it’s the opposite — “if find” shows a —, and “pool share” shows your proportional slice of the 98%.
